UGRA stands for the Utah Gay Rodeo Association. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, made up of a large group of LGBT men and women, that live the country western lifestyle. For some of us, this is how we were raised and for others, you could say we have country running through our veins.
When we're not working sunup to sundown, chances are you can find us blowing off some steam and having a good time. You should come and join us! We have a truckload of events planned, everything from hanging out at the local watering hole to rodeo and lots of fun stuff in between. Have you ever been to a RODEO...?
Here is a little history: Golden Spike Gay Rodeo Association (GSGRA) was founded in 1979 and operated as a group of local country western gays helping out the community. They were admitted to IGRA 10 years later in 1989 as the Utah Gay Rodeo Association (UGRA, by this time Golden State Gay Rodeo Association in California, owned the acronym GSGRA) however, they didn’t produce a rodeo until 2000. The association dissolved in 2006.
On January 4, 2016 the Utah Gay Rodeo Association (UGRA) was brought back to life. The UGRA plans to be admitted to IGRA by Summer 2016.
